BARN and NATTA Strengthen Airline–Travel Trade Collaboration

The Board of Airline Representatives in Nepal (BARN) and the Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA) held a joint interaction and networking session at Mercure Kathmandu Sukedhara Heights under the theme “Strengthening Airline and Travel Trade Collaboration.”

The meeting brought together representatives from the airline and travel trade sectors to strengthen industry coordination, foster greater cooperation, and discuss matters of mutual interest affecting Nepal’s aviation and tourism industry.

The programme was chaired by Mr. Anil Ghimire, Chairman of BARN, facilitated by Mr. Sarik Bogati, General Secretary of BARN, and moderated by Mr. Bhola Bikram Thapa, Vice Chairman of BARN. NATTA President Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of closer collaboration between airlines and travel trade stakeholders.

Key Areas of Discussion

The interactive session focused on:

  • Strengthening coordination between airlines and travel agencies;
  • Addressing common operational challenges faced by the aviation and travel trade sectors;
  • Identifying opportunities to increase tourism arrivals to Nepal;
  • Enhancing customer experience and service delivery;
  • Promoting greater cooperation and information sharing between industry stakeholders; and
  • Exploring opportunities for future joint initiatives to support the sustainable growth of Nepal’s aviation and tourism ecosystem.

The engagement reflects the shared commitment of BARN and NATTA to building stronger industry partnerships and creating a more coordinated, efficient and traveller-focused aviation and tourism environment in Nepal.

Both organizations expressed optimism that continued dialogue and structured cooperation would contribute to improved industry efficiency, stronger tourism promotion and sustainable growth of Nepal’s travel and aviation sectors.

Appreciation

As part of the programme, BARN and NATTA presented a Letter of Appreciation to Mercure Kathmandu Sukedhara Heights in recognition of its support for the collaborative initiative. The hotel team subsequently hosted participants on a guided property tour.
